When you use Motorly, we may collect the following information:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Vehicle details including registration, make, model, year, and condition
• Photos of your vehicle uploaded through our platform
• Your postcode and state of registration
• Device and browser information for analytics purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide accurate vehicle valuations
• Connect you with licensed dealers in our verified network
• Send you relevant offers and communications about your inquiry
• Improve our platform and services
• Comply with Australian legal requirements

3. Information Sharing

Licensed dealers in our network first see your submission as an anonymised listing: vehicle details, condition, photos and general location. Your name, email address, phone number and exact address are withheld at that stage.

Your contact details are disclosed to a single dealer only when that dealer purchases your lead — which occurs when you accept their offer, or when a dealer buys the listing at full price. That dealer then contacts you directly to complete the sale. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes unrelated to our car selling service.

4. Advertising & Customer Match

To reach people who may be interested in selling their car, we sometimes upload a one-way hashed (SHA-256) version of customer email addresses and phone numbers to advertising platforms such as Google Ads (Customer Match) and similar services. These platforms use the hashes only to match existing accounts and serve relevant ads — they do not receive your raw contact details, your vehicle information, or your valuations.

You can remove yourself from these audiences at any time, free of charge, by visiting our Advertising Opt-Out page. Opt-outs are stored as one-way hashes and applied to all future uploads. Existing audiences are reconciled against your opt-out within seven (7) days.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@motorly.com.au.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve the user experience and measure the effectiveness of our services. The tools we use are:

• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — aggregate traffic, page views and referral sources.
• PostHog (EU-hosted) — product analytics such as page views and interactions with site features.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session and heatmap data used to identify usability problems.
• Our own analytics — page and funnel events stored in our own database.

These tools are not enabled on pages accessed through a private link (for example your valuation, photo upload, or offer acceptance pages), so information about your vehicle or offers is never sent to a third-party analytics provider.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia (Google in the United States, PostHog in the European Union, Microsoft in the United States). By using the site you consent to this overseas disclosure of analytics data.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, or contact us to have your data removed.
